The town that I live in

August 11, 2012

Some time ago I went around to St Wulfram’s church with David when he was visiting. I have posted about the cemetery around it before, but not the church itself. I have to say that I am not a religious person but I like visiting temples, as they are not only places of worship but also works of art.

St Wulfram’s dates from the 12th century, with subsequent elements being added throughout the times. It is a small but very interesting space, as there are many details to look at. You can read the whole history here. The church’s website can be found here for news on activities.

The spire is one of the tallest in England and I’ve been on it. On the top there is a peregrine falcon nest and a camera has been installed so we can see what is going on with the chicks.

Hope you enjoyed this little tour. I have a lot more things to post from travels and places I’ve visited, please bare with me as I’ll get round to showing the photos eventually. Have a great weekend!

It is beautiful there, it reminds me a bit of Canterbury Cathedral!

You are such an amazing photographer! These pics are incredible, the details are glorious! Isn't interesting to see the church has chairs instead of pews? They actually look like they might be a bit kinder on the bottom too:) xo
