Week in photos

September 30, 2012

As usual, this has been a pretty uneventful week, save for the weekend. This weekend I attended not one show, but two! It’s good to go out and dance and I missed that.

This was taken from an article about Kraftwerk on Mojo magazine. I thought it was highly amusing.

Monday it was rain nonstop all day. / At the doctor’s office waiting room.
Bow fever – Pink bow from Primark, golden bow from cat boot sale, on aran sweater also from car boot sale / Shoes by Carvela, tights from Primark, Skirt from American Apparel
I see jeans… All the time! Boo!
All booted up for the Winter – my new bubblegum pink Dr Martens boots!
Tiny little flowers
New read, recommended by Lord Bassington- Bassington / We had the Biggest Coffee Morning at work on Friday, for raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I asked my colleague Tom for some yummy cake, he brought me pink cake. He knows me well.
“Lost Highway” / My lovely Mango shoes I hadn’t worn in quite a while (note the phone cover ears shadow)
At the bar next to the venue. Some people were staring when we got in there. I thought it was rude and then remembered I was wearing a golden sequined pill box hat. That might have been the issue. Funny thing about this hat is that I got it from H&M in NYC in 2009 and this was the first opportunity I had to wear it. I lead a sad life. Need more glamour!
Waiting for the show / the show!- The Hicksville Bombers are a good fun rockabilly band and soon after everyone was swinging and jiving across the dancefloor! I did have a bit of a dance too and loved it.
One of the highlights of the night were the performances by burlesque performer Miss Hotcake Kitty. You can see a video of the same routine here
Sleeping swans in Lincoln
Some shandy and non alcoholic berry flavoured drink.
I was shocked at the amount of students present on that night. (I cut my hair again, can you notice the difference?)
One of the djs at Propaganda / some youngins dancing to indie pop. I danced a little too, as much as my boots allowed anyway, lol.
The Subways. I took some better photos with a proper camera. Will edit them and share them soon!
All over the place.
Darcie boots by Dr Martens. They’re brilliant and they have high heels! Not good for throwing some shapes in them though, they hinder my fantastic dance moves.
The poster for the show we went there to see.
It was a fun two days, that I can tell you.

Ah, dancing… Can't remember the last time I danced, apart from in my kitchen.
Great pics, I love the little pill box hat. I work on the assumption that people staring is a GOOD thing, shows you stand out from the jeans-wearing masses! Any photos of the rest of the outfit? You always have such great shoes/boots. xxxx

Your doctor's office waiting room has toys?! Mine just has old expired magazines. I think I need to start wearing sparkly little hats 🙂

The sight of your glorious hat would have bought some real joy to all those people staring at you:). Hopefully you've inspired them to get themselves a damn fine hat! I have hats I've never worn before – SO norty I know, but I get obsessive about buying them every now and then. The pink Docs are bloody awesome and they have PINK soles!! I love your bows and the door with the peeling pant. Yuk to jeans, but you already know that;). Love your round-ups:)) xoxo

Peeling, crackling, bows, Mango shoes (!), pink cake, and sleeping swans, rockabilly – so great! Glad you got to go out dancing. 🙂
