Finally getting around to posting the photos of my second day in Brighton. I had contacted Victoria of Style Marmalade for a meet up and couldn’t have asked for better company for the day. After wandering about the vintage shops and getting a few goodies here and there we met up and went for a hot tea and a stroll at the ocean front. It was funny to find out that we do have a lot of things in our background in common and decided it must be a blogger thing.
The day was unfortunately quite grey, so bad I had actually been caught out in the rain in the morning (which made me feel poorly the next day, booo!) so the colours weren’t as vibrant as I expected, however, it seems like a great excuse to go back sometime in the future and hope for better weather!
Some photos were taken and Victoria, being a blogger herself was gracious and patient and took a few photos of me, which is a rarity – that’s the good thing about hanging out with other bloggers, asking for photos to be taken is not awkward!
Hope you enjoy these as much as I did taking them.
Brighton is one of the seaside towns that flourished in the 19th century, when people started taking holidays by the sea, in a time when overseas travel wasn’t accessible as today. As soon as international travelling became available people started flocking to warmer climates and the seaside towns started decaying. (remember my trip to Skegness?) and becoming ran down. In the words of Morrissey on his fantastic song ‘Every Day is Like Sunday’:
This is the coastal town
That they forgot to close down
Armageddon – come armageddon!
Come, armageddon! come!
Having said this, Brighton is not like every other seaside town in the sense that it is actually lively and vibrant and not tacky. I believe it must have something to do with the fact that it is very popular with Londoners and the proximity to London. It also seems a lot more affluent, possibly for the same reason.

Such a cute dress, and I have bag envy… xxx
I agree with Curtise, you make me want to visit Brighton! Even though it was an overcast day, your photos are really very beautiful – not at all put off by the weather. I adore your beautiful outfit so much, the tights are gorgeous with the scrumptious frock and you know, your chazza raincoat is a fabulous colour and goes beautifully with your outfit – how about that? Can't beat the chazza's eh? xoxoxoox
Looks like a lovely place! That photo of the Ferris wheel on the beach is particularly nice!
