Office looks

April 27, 2013

As posting outfit photos hastily taken at the office parking lot is somehow becoming a bit of a habit, I thought I’d inaugurate a new Saturday feature called ‘Office Looks’, in which I share my totally inappropriate looks for the office. Like I said last week, I dread the day I will have to tone down my outfit silliness for the sake of work. For now and while I can, I’ll make the most of it.

As the weather is finally getting nicer, I thought I’d share the last of the Winter looks I have shot by Frankie, my lunchtime photographer so next week I can move on to nicer weather gear. The common theme with this one is obviously the jacket. It is grey as the weather and I like it a lot,  I’ve been wearing it quite often.

Details: Jacket – Zara (trade with Lili), Jumper – Gharani Strok (via TK Maxx), Skirt – H&M Trend (via Ebay), Boots – Office (via Ebay), Bag – Target (from my latest trip to Florida), Beret – It belonged to my Mum in the 80’s.

The boots are really high and I can’t walk all that well in them – although they are marked my size, they are a tad too big. Sadly, I may have to let them go because of this. If you wear a UK size 6 and are interested let me know as they might fit you properly. I think Vix has similar ones in grey. (Oh, and they are black, although they look midnight bluey on the photo – I wish!)

Details – Jacket – Zara (trade with Lili), Dress – H&M Trend (via Ebay), Bag – Target, Tights – Primark, Boots – Irregular Choice (via Ebay), Scarf – Vintage Souvenir from Rome scarf,(thrifted in Florida)

How crazy are these? One of the silliest pair of shoes I own. And you know I own quite a few…

Anyway, I hope you like this new feature. Which outfit is your favourite?

Oh those velvet boots are beautiful – but I couldn’t walk in them either! You look cute in your mum’s beret, and the Irregular Choice shoes are bonkers in a good way! Don’t ever tone down, that would be a shame. xxx

Both area amazing, your mom’s beret tugged at my heart but the cow-couple boots got me in the end! I too am lucky to have a lot of freedom to dress as I please – making the most of it, yes!!!

Hooray to not having to conform to style rules 🙂
I thought you might like the funny cowboy boots, they are like caricatures of the real thing, aren’t they?

That jacket is so cozy. No wonder you love it. Like a warm blanket of fog. And those Mexican cowboy boots. I can’t stop thinking about them!

That’s exactly what it feels like, a nice blanket, so comfy 🙂
      Hope you are well

How could I possibly choose? You look so gorgeous in both outfits, I love the bag so much and the velvet boots are glorious! I think they would be easier to walk in if the platform in the front of the boots was higher – more comfy for your feet. The Mexican-style booties are scrumptious!! xoxoxo

Definitely! I need to find a smaller size as they need to be a snug fit 🙂

I can’t even concentrate on the outfit. The velvet platform boots are amazing. Ahhhh-mazing!

They really are, I’m gutted that I can’t walk properly in them 🙁

I couldn’t walk in those heels either! I am totally diggin’ the Irregular Choice boots! I’ve wanted a pair of shoes from that company since I saw a woman in New York wearing a pair of boots from there that were ridiculously cool. I have large, bunion-inflicted feet so don’t find many fun shoes that fit, but I love to see other people who are rocking them. Both outfits are very cute, by the way.

Argh, bunions suck and do take all the fun away from footwear. Someone should design fun shoes for people with problems!

You totally cracked me up when you say, ” I dread the day I will have to tone down my outfit silliness for the sake of work.” Darn that day job! If left to my own devices, I’d be making hats and/or selling secondhand clothes.

Actually, I don’t think you look inappropriate for the office – maybe the silliest pay of shoes you own might get a long look from a stuffier lawyer 🙂 You’re well covered up, dressed really well for the ice box that is my office, and you are not wearing the newly prohibited jeans at our office.

For my lovely blogging friends that don’t have to dress for conservative offices, or even for a day job, but are killer thrifters, I’m suggested they do a post dressing up as a sexy secretary (maybe Mad Men era) – or as Miss Moneypenny lol.

I’ve added you to my reader. I have one of those lovely eBay tulle skirts too in black.
