Sunday at the farm

April 29, 2013

Last Sunday I stopped by the place where my housemate and friend Iain keeps his horse, on the way to Lincoln for a movie session. (We saw The Place Beyond the Pines, which I highly recommend. It’s not only very a very good story and performances but also the main actors are Ryan Gosling and Bradley Cooper, need I say more?). Anyways, I had to keep myself busy while the horse was being tended to and I went around chasing after the animals and taking photos.

I thought Amber would like this photo of some English chicks when I took it.

This little guy trotted towards me at some point, I don’t know what he was thinking as he never got close enough to get some cuddles…

Lovely yellow daffodils are everywhere.

Although it seems like I’m speaking to him, sadly Wolfie is not a talking horse. Details: Jacket – Antoni and Alison (via TK Maxx, worn previously here), Jumper – Ebay, altered by me, Skirt – Ebay, Shorts – H&M , Black flower – H&M, Jazz Dance boots – Ebay (they’re starting to fall apart, boo)

I’m adding this to Patti’s Visible Monday as wearing a fur coat and white boots around the stables makes you stick out like a sore thumb.

Very impractical! But I wasn’t doing any work, just walking around. Otherwise I might have worn overalls instead πŸ™‚

Hallooooooo, wee chickies, Hi! Hi! Hi! Between the recent IC cowboy boots and chickies, you do know me. πŸ˜€

These are gorgeous photos – dear shaggy ponies, lovely details, both portraits of you superb. Your jazz booties put me in mind of the boxing boots I so wanted for years.

      I knew you’d love it!
boxing boots are great- I remember drooling over these blue adidas ones back in the 90’s. Then they became really popular and it faded away again. Now it’s the perfect time to pick it up again.

You must have been the best dressed person on the farm! Fun outfit, I especially like the skirt.

Most definitely. I was the only one not wearing farm appropriate attire heheh!

So adorable. Love the embellishment, black and deep green right next to each other, especially! Really fun for the country, but might surprise some, as you say.
As one who knows (we still have 10 mares in my front pasture!, most of whom were born here…) your little pony friend probably stopped short because no food seemed forthcoming. Most horses will put up with a cuddle, but are seriously food-driven beasties. However, you can get to their hearts with treats, and affection can develop that doesn’t involve food. Amazing critters.
    And amazing Mrs. D!

That’s so cool, I admit I don’t know all that much about horses… I’ve always lived in Lisbon all my life and only after moving to countryside England I’ve had the chance to see them up close more often. It’s a learning process!!

Horses are really nosy and a bit greedy, they do that stand offish thing a lot, which is annoying if you want a cuddle. The chicks are really cute! You look fabulous!
