Recently I found a vintage shop in Nottingham that I had never been to. I didn’t take that many photos inside, just a couple of snaps with my phone but here is a taster:
I bought a couple of things there – a pair of 50’s spectacles and this cute 60’s ivory and orange dress, with peculiar square buttons in perfect shape, for £12. Not the cheapest thing ever but fairly priced for a vintage shop. Some shops seem to price old dresses like they’re made of gold or something… The fabric feels a bit rough to the touch, I suspect it might have been made for decoration purposes initially but I think it looks great as a dress too. I’m certainly not the first nor will be the last to wear clothes made out of curtains, right Vix?
Details: Dress – Vintage, Coat – Zara (swap with Lili), Bag – Ahcahcum Muchacha , Cardigan – H&M, via Ebay, Tights – Ebay, Shoes – Pull and Bear (sale), Necklace – second hand, from my trip to Sheffield, Sunnies – Moschino, via TK Maxx, Blue Baby Brooch – from the Vintage Market in Brussels.
I’m adding this to Patty’s Visible Monday as it’s that time of the week!

You look stunning! That’s a fabulous dress and yes, it has a curtain-y look to it. That’s a good thing, right?
I price my vintage dresses at £8 and upwards, people go through my rails and comment on how cheap they are. Vintage means 25 years and older, that’s all!
Of course it is! I would love to go to one of the fairs you’re at. I had a look but none seems to be close to here 🙁
lovely dress, that curtain-like print is fabulous, and I think that decoration fabrics make great dresses and skirts!
you look gorgeous!, love your sunnies and funny bag!
besos
It really is! I love all the skirts you make out of decoration fabrics too!
Love that cat-purse! And your “new” vintage dress too – great fabric and buttons. Thanks for sharing your fab look with Visible Monday.
Thank you!
I love this dress! The colors and patterns and especially the buttons!

Love it all, especially the bag. How awesome is it?
All love all their stuff. They sent a catalogue of the brand along with the bag and it just makes me squeal…
All so cute … love your cat-bag, too! I wonder if those pink pumps are a 4.5?
But I’m most taken by the blue baby pin … when I was in college, one of the women in our senior studio decorated out private domain for Christmas with a white sprayed tree festooned with tiny pink party-favor babies. Never forgotten that … how could I?
Truly unforgettable! How odd!
Your upside down catbag is just so fricking cool! I love it. The dress is great, groovy buttons. I also love the art deco heads in the first photo! x
Thanks! The shop is quite good, I should go back more often 🙂
That’s a great dress, I’m so pleased you found a vintage shop near you and a dress which fits you nicely! Look fab with your Sheffield beads and that amazing bag! xxx
As a lover of vintage dresses, I think the piece that you’re wearing is gorgeous. And wish I could find a few vintage manikin heads similar to those in your photo ‘taster.’ Perfect for hat display!
