Autumn has arrived and serves as a reminder that Christmas and the Festive season is fast approaching! Some of my friends are already posting countdowns for Christmas on social media and it is time to start thinking about our gift shopping and our style choices. Soon enough we will need to consider what to wear to the office party, the family do, NYE… Argh! The good thing is, there are plenty of options out there.
I will be spending this year’s festive season in Marrakesh so I created a mood board around some items I would be wearing there. As it is my belief that when travelling you need to respect the local culture, I picked a few items that are not too revealing but are still very stylish and very me.
The rich jewels colours in Moroccan streets and culture have been a definite inspiration for this look. The dress is a 1970’s Victorian style maxi that is brought up to date with the contrast of the studded clutch and geometric shaped accessories. Hair jewelry is now very current and the head piece I picked adds that romantic Arabian Nights feel to the outfit. I would wear a couple of the studded bracelets, stacked on one arm and a few rings to complete the look. I also added tights that are the same colour as the booties as they add interestingness to the look.
Details: Hair jewellery – Asos, Vintage 1970s Kati At Laura Phillips Faux Victorian Lace Maxi Dress – Kinky Melon’s Retro Boutique, Hot Pink Ankle Boots – Elisha by Duo (soon will be available in the colour I picked), Studded clutch – New Look, Bracelet – Kenneth JAY Lane at ASOS, Gold Ring – Skool ov Jenius at ASOS, Stud Ring – KR3W at ASOS, Fuchsia Tights – We Love Colours
Have you ever been to Morocco? Would love to hear your suggestions and tips for my week there!
PS: I made this post to participate in a competition organized by Duo shoes, for the launch of their party season collection. The winner will be announced on the 3rd of October, for a chance to style the window of their London flagship store.
