As it usually happens about twice a year or so, the carnival came to town, with all its lights and entertainment and as always, I managed to walk through it for some photos. This time my friend David was with me so I got to pose with the carousel for a couple of shots!
Although I’m not that interested in the rides and the such, walking past it and seeing all the people – the families with their kids, the awkward teenagers in small groups looking lost and self conscious, the occasional chavs – is an interesting portrait of small town England. I kind of feel like an outsider so I turn to doing sociological observations of these events. It’s fairly interesting.
This was one of the days that I feel like I got dressed with my eyes closed. I didn’t but I did get dressed in a hurry and just grabbed whatever was handy. It’s not so bad, or so I keep telling myself.

You look lovely doll! I do love the carousels :))) x
Love those carousels, quite fancy one in the garden!
Love your “thrown-together” outfit, the blue tights are especially fab! xxx
One psychedelic looking carousel! I do love them though, we’re lucky to have one of the old, old ones in an amusement park not too far, & the one at Coney Island is super old too. So beautiful! Haha you just reminded me of a crazy day a bunch of us (back in the 80s all in our rock n roll gear) going out to Coney Island and getting our friends, these heavy metal dudes on the carousel with us! Wish I had pics as one dear friend is gone now… You may not have thought, but you look fab as always! XXX <3
Wow, that’s a carousel out of a dream! You look wonderful, and I do want one of the teddies labeled for “losers” – I feel bad for them. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday! xox
Beautiful merry-go-round, I still like a ride on one, and they always make for great photos! Gorgeous bag, Sara; you always look cool whether you got dressed in a hurry or not! xxx
I love your thrown-together outfit too, the bag, shoes, coat… Sometimes those grabbed ensembles turn out to be favourites. Nothing beats the colours of a carnival and the sounds of the grounds with people selling candy and games and rides and, of course, the distinctive music of the carousel.
Sara, no matter what you photograph, you give us wonderful things to look at! Thank you again for all the beauty. And you are invariably just adorable! Does your hat say “BEST”? So true!
(Congratulate me. Our garage kitteh had kittens. Haven’t seen them, but they’re loud!)
love your coat, you look adorable 😀
