Being a southern European and used to milder temperatures, one of the things I always struggle here in the UK is with layering clothes for warmth and comfort in the colder seasons.
I think that every Winter I get a little bit better, but I still need to practice. Nothing better than playing with Polyvore to exercise one’s styling muscles from the comfort of the home. I’ve done a little collage featuring a selection of ModCloth cardigans and sweaters I would gladly pile up on my back to keep me warm. ModCloth, please come to Europe, quick!
I was inspired by a pair of western style boots I bought for myself and built the outfit around that idea, as I really need to figure out what I could be wearing with those… I love experimenting with new things and cowboy boots certainly are out of my usual repertoire. As I am a fan of colour, I picked some nice jewel tones, that are played down a little by the black and white cardigan. I like to do a little pattern mixing every now and then, so the shirt, the cardigan and the texture of the turquoise tights work rather well with all the other pieces in solid colours. I also added a boho hat to finish off the outfit- with so many layers, you might feel a bit bulky so a hat will help balance those proportions. Tie it all up with a scarf and you’ve got your lovely outfit ready, perfect for a walk in the park.
What will you be wearing this Autumn?
