No matter who you are or where you come from – London is the centre of all professions, faiths and orientations. Be sure that here you will find a place that would be perfect for you. Fate has landed me in the western part of the city and I keep complaining to my friends that the most exciting things always happen in the East.

No matter what you are interested in: the coolest places to live in London, the best universities or postgraduate accommodation London, the best places for young professionals, the most beautiful parts of London – you will find everything in this wonderful city. But if you stay in its western part, here are the top 11 things you need to do without fail.

1. Visit one of the largest and most colourful carnivals in the world – The Notting Hill Carnival. It is usually held in late August in the same area of London.

2. Walk along the Walpole Park located in the heart of Ealing. There you will find Pitzhanger Manor House & Art Gallery, two decorative ponds with several fountains. Many benches and small bridges on the pond are often used for wedding photo shoots.

3. Have a drink in The Dove Pub in Hammersmith. The Dove offers a wide selection of ales and beers.

4. Take a look at the guards in their huge bearskin caps and red uniforms when they are patrolling the streets of West London.

5. The highest manifestation of chic – go shopping on Old Bond Street.

6. Do not miss the fashionable and very expensive ​​Kensington area. The central street of Kensington has long been considered the most fashionable shopping street in London.

8. Join the party at King’s Road – the street of luxury shops and famous bars. In general, art and commerce live in close proximity in this trendy area.

8. Find peace after the shopping race by visiting the St James’s Church, Piccadilly.

9. Look at one of the attractions of Paddington – the railway station building built in 1851. After a recent renovation this grand building hosts an ultra-modern complex with shops and cafes.

Maybe I shouldn’t be so unfair as there’s plenty on this side of town, no? Now all I have to do is convince my friends to start coming round my neck of the woods more often.
