The other week I attended Debenhams‘ amazing press day showroom, with all the homewares and fashions that will be available to buy in store and online when Autumn kicks in! I headed down to Holborn this time, to Victoria House where I found room after room filled with some pretty awesome things. I took a bunch of photos, as always, so you can see my favourites from the event.

In the home decor section what stood out the most for me were bold colours, such as Abigail Ahern and Laura Oakes, both with their Edition collections (who is already a favourite of mine. I have the mirror on my dresser and I love it).

And of course, Ben de Lisi’s black and white graphics with a few splashes of colour here and there:

I’d live there in a heartbeat. It would be a bit awkward though, with all the people walking around, looking at the furniture.

On a different note, John Rocha played more with textures rather than colour, with also very interesting results that whisper “comfort” in my ears. Who wouldn’t want to snuggle on that sofa?

After seeing all the home accoutrements, I moved on to the clothes area, which I was quite excited about – I can’t dress my own house at the moment but I can surely dress myself! And this is what I saw:

It was interesting to see how much of the clothes collections were vintage inspired. some pieces reminded me of old Hollywood glamour in 1940’s style and I was happy to see that Henry Holland took on the 70’s as an inspiration to some of the pieces, creating a very contemporary collection with a wink back to the 70’s. So many beautiful outfits, I made a quick selection of the ones I would take home with me without a doubt:

Fringe vest and suede shorts, denim skirt and parka, a stylish duo from the H! collection by Henry Holland. The cute 60’s looking coat is also by Ben de Lisi for Principles.

These last two dresses were absolutely stunning. Although the silver one would look horrible on someone such as myself (I’m too short and wide), I’d bring it home just on the principle that beautiful clothes are to be admired, because that’s what I would do. The second one is a lot more wearable and being a sucker for red and embroidery, it seemed to me like a match made in heaven. Both are from the Debenhams Debut collection and I’m asking Santa for them.

some unmentionable items to wear around the boudoir. Or anywhere you like, really.

Amazing details in the accessories section.

Wearing fringey cover ups is a trend that will continue through Autumn. I’m happy about that as they look so Romantic.

Henry Holland designing some amusing bags, as always. Why grow up when you can wear such fun things every day?

I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the things to come over at Debenhams, which will be available in store and online.
