Beauty – Liquid Collagen – does it really work?

You may remember that I had already tried a collagen supplement for a few months, aimed at improving the condition of hair and nails. The reality is, there are loads of different collagen supplements and treatments in the market these days and the majority will be designed to help alleviate the ageing process. You can find them in capsules or as a drinkable liquid and this is what I tried for a whole month this time. Do you want to know if it worked?

The short and straight to the point answer is: YES!

I received a whole month’s worth of the little collagen bottles from Gold Collagen and I have to say that I was a little bit sceptical, because you know, sometimes it’s hard to believe that these things actually work. The makers claim that the liquid treatment is 20 times more effective than capsule and I was curious to see if that was the case.

As I am in my late 30’s, it’s only natural that my skin is losing elasticity (due to loss of collagen) and getting a little bit saggy. Living in a polluted city, stress and general lack of sleep among other things and besides the natural ageing process, all contribute to a general decline in one’s skin condition.

However, in the last week or so and after being on the Gold Collagen regime for almost a whole month, without having made any other changes in my lifestyle, I realised how much firmer my skin felt. The reality is, I do notice the difference on my skin and it’s definitely for the better. It was surprising, as I tend to be a little bit of a doubting Thomas when it comes to these things – I have to see if to believe it!

How does it work?

Gold Collagen, is produced by Minerva and based on technology from Japan. It is a liquid, sugar-free blend of collagen and hyaluronic acid plus other ingredients, with a refreshing taste of passion fruit, that I got used to ingesting every morning as I got to work – and took with me on my holiday, as you can see by my photos. By ingesting the collagen, the makers claim, it gets through the blood to the deepest level of the skin, multiplying and stimulating the fibroblast cells, the ones which are responsible for the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

I have to say that I am happy to have tried this and it’s no exaggeration when they say “Skincare starts with a sip“. I might be jumping the gun here but it is my opinion as a layperson that ingesting this might be more beneficial than a lot of topical wrinkle creams, as those don’t penetrate down to the deeper layers of the dermis. It’s not a cheap thing to have but if you have to opt between doing the Gold Collagen bottles or buying expensive creams, I’d vote for the collagen drink as I can see more visible results after just one month of having it.

How about you? Have you ever tried anything like this before?

Disclaimer: I have been given a whole month’s worth of Gold Collagen bottles, words and opinions are my own.

Japanese beauty fanatics (the entire female population aged 40 and under, then) SWEAR by collagen – there’s collagen drinks, collagen powder, collagens cream etc. The collagen craze is slowly infiltrating the Malaysian market – my friends are ‘testing the waters’ as it were, and some of them outright swear by it. Me – I LIKE the idea of collagen and keep meaning to buy some to try whenever I’m in Kuala Lumpur, but eh, I keep forgetting. Thanks for reminding me to put in a request for my next ‘care package’ from home! x

Collagen is great! I can’t believe how good it actually is. Don’t forget that if you don’t get it from Malaysia, you can also find it at Boots!

Hiya! I’ve been using this recently – http://www.beautyandtheboutique.com/Rejuvenated_Collagen_Shots_p/r-collagen-shots.htm

I feel it certainly makes a difference already although I regret not taking before and after pics to see if there really is a notable difference, the only downside is if I can keep up the cost since these things only work as long as you use them for. This one does at least taste palatable! 🙂

That looks good too! It hinkt he main downside really is the price but at least you’re paying for something that actually works!
