Remember when I shared a blog post about my friend and his tattooed family? At the time, I visited them in Rochester for a short weekend stay for the photos and had the chance to take a stroll for an afternoon around the historical city centre. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I visited them… upside is, looking at that photo, I haven’t aged a day! I was looking at the photos and thought I should still share them as there are a few good ones – it would be a waste otherwise. It’s not like I’m going out all that much these days anyway.
Rochester is located down in Kent (South of England) is as you might have realised by the photos already, an old city and I believe well worthy of a visit. There is plenty to see: the Castle, churches, medieval roads and buildings, Charles Dickens’ Swiss chalet, a friendly antique and vintage shop and an authentic old style sweet shop. All within walking distance of each other. For all the reasons you have seen above as images, you should book your train tickets right now, it’s the perfect place for a nice weekend away.

I have been through Rochester a million times on the train heading to the Kent coast but have never actually visited. I really should do something about that!
Such a lovely report, those little details that caught your eye are always interesting!

Lovely Rochester! I lived there for a year, I did a foundation course in art and design at Kent Institue of Art and Design, but that is ten years ago. Good to see it still looks good!
