May 16, 2014

During my latest visit to Sheffield, where I met the amazing blogger gals, we visited Loulou’s Vintage Market and  purchased three dresses. As a few people demanded to see them and I do as I am told, here they are.

What is happiness

November 1, 2013

Happiness can be a lot of things. the unexpected kindness of a stranger, good news from a friend… but those cannot be photographed. So for this post, I have chosen to show you nice things that have made me happy lately.

One of the cutest makeup sets I’ve ever owned, by Pupa.

A pair of hot pink satin killer heels from Reiss. Hurry! You can still get them here, on sale!

Mr Tibbs’ smile.

A lovely 60’s poppy dress and a Welsh tapestry cape I got from a blog sale.

Finding vintage items with the original tag still on.

My beautiful gauzy original Biba, via Kinky Melon’s Retro Boutique.

How about you? What has made you happy lately?

Let the curtain fall

May 13, 2013

Recently I found a vintage shop in Nottingham that I had never been to. I didn’t take that many photos inside, just a couple of snaps with my phone but here is a taster:

I bought a couple of things there – a pair of 50’s spectacles  and this cute 60’s ivory and orange dress, with peculiar square buttons in perfect shape, for  £12. Not the cheapest thing ever but fairly priced for a vintage shop. Some shops seem to price old dresses like they’re made of gold or something… The fabric feels a bit rough to the touch, I suspect it might have been made for decoration purposes initially but I think it looks great as a dress too. I’m certainly not the first nor will be the last to wear clothes made out of curtains, right Vix?

Details:  Dress – Vintage, Coat – Zara (swap with Lili), Bag – Ahcahcum Muchacha , Cardigan – H&M, via Ebay, Tights – Ebay, Shoes – Pull and Bear (sale), Necklace – second hand, from my trip to SheffieldSunnies – Moschino, via TK Maxx, Blue Baby Brooch – from the Vintage Market in Brussels.

I’m adding this to Patty’s Visible Monday as it’s that time of the week!
