I have to say that I rarely pick clothes for other people but it was something I thought could be an interesting and fun exercise. It’s always different to imagine an outfit with a different taste and body type.  For that reason I engaged my friends Daniela and Filipa for a photoshoot with photographer David Bridle. Once again the collaboration with The Boutique, proved invaluable as Debbie graciously lent us a couple of items to use. I really enjoyed dressing up the girls and I look forward to more fun days like this.

DANIELA

Daniela asked me to pick an 80’s Madonna inspired look and the big numbers top from The Boutique was just perfect. Add a lot of bracelets and wild hair and it’s done!

“Well, recently I had the most amazing experience. Since forever, I always wished to be Madonna for one day. Take her glorious and crazy days from her and apply it on me. At least, look wise! 🙂

My friend and stylist Sara D has invited me for a private photo shoot and let me tell you that it has been fantastic, to say the least. She was able to choose the right clothes, accessories and hair style in order to get me “striking a pose” with all its potential.

I said to Sara that all has been fabulous and I am certainly repeating the experience. Although we are friends, Sara has shown me a professional side that has swept me away. I am now a client as well!

Thanks Sara. You were spot on. I certainly feel like a Diva now! :)”

FILIPA

Filipa didn’t ask me for a theme in particular but I thought we could try a few things she would never pick up herself. The polkadot top from The Boutique was one of those things and I think it is a winner!

“I’m not the flowery, big bold patters or bright colours type of girl. But, leaving it all in Sara’s hands has allowed me to try new things and I can say I was gladly surprised with the results achieved. Flowers in the hair are definitely a look to repeat 🙂 The clothes chosen were really nice and I absolutely loved the sequined shoes. Than you Sara for this experience.”

Frida for one day

June 3, 2013

A couple of weeks ago I got together with friends and photographer David Bridle for a little photoshoot. When I saw the flowery clothes and accessories at The Boutique, Mexican artist Frida Kahlo was the inspiration that came to mind. I did two similar looks, with the main variation being the accessories. If you are familiar with Frida’s work you will know that it features mostly her self portraits and always with a very serious expression on her face. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any painting of her smiling, please correct me if I’m wrong. I hope you like these, I had a lot of fun preparing the looks and planning the photoshoot.

Behind the scenes

May 22, 2013

Last Sunday I got together with friends and photographer David Bridle for a little photoshoot. We wanted to dress up and David was up for something a little different so we were all quite happy to spend a morning having fun with photos and clothes!

I wanted to try picking clothes for other people – I normally only pick clothes for myself and with the help of Debbie from The Boutique, we came up with a few outfits we all all liked. Daniela chose the 80’s Madonna look for a bit of fun, Filipa wanted to try a few different things she might want to incorporate in her every day style and the clothes available at Debbie’s shop inspired me to put a couple of Frida Kahlo inspired outfits together.

Here are a few behind the scenes photos we took, I will be sharing the actual photos very soon. I hope you like them!

I hope you liked this little preview, I need to thank David for taking the photos, Debbie for so graciously lending the clothes from her shop and my friends for letting me dress them up. Don’t forget to check out David’s page and if you live in Grantham swing by Debbie’s little shop The Boutique at the Guildhall Street.
