A couple of weeks ago I made my way after work to Roka on Charlotte Street for a very special event – the launch of a new range of products by one of my favourite beauty brands, DHC.

I arrived as the event was already in full swing. I met up with my friend Lili from Beauty and the Snob and had the opportunity to catch up with Abigail and Julia from Freedom PR, as I hadn’t seen them in ages! (Hi ladies! *waves virtually*)

I’m still catching up with my blogging – this happened a few weeks ago already, but it was such a nice event that I can’t keep it out of the blog. Debenhams, as always, put together a great evening full of beauty, bloggers and a cool place!

We were invited to head down to Mahiki – a cool tiki bar over at Dover Street, in Central London – for treatments, drinks and some festive cheer. Scroll to the bottom of the post if you want to go straight to the nice products I got to try.

If you’ve been following my blog for long enough or at least on social media you will have noticed how much I appreciate street art. There’s just something about it that has always fascinated me, something that started years ago when I still lived in Lisbon. It’s not like I’m an expert, but I know when something catches my eye or appeals to my sensibilities.

A very English evening with EnglishTown #ETFilmNight

Last week I went to a different kind of event. It wasn’t a beauty launch or an exhibition opening like I very often go to, but an event to celebrate British culture and meet other London expats, all courtesy of English Town. Everyone there was foreign! And you know what to say when you see a lot of foreign people… “coming here, appreciating our culture, enjoying our food“… and that’s exactly what we did.

I had a really nice time – I finally met Erin and Jasmin in person, after following them on Instagram for a while – and it was a lovely time with my bestie Lili. We had food: started with coronation chicken and some kartoffelsalat (potato salad, which, for some reason I like saying it in German). There is a funny story about the origin of the coronation chicken recipe and it doesn’t have anything to do with a very popular TV soap. It was so called because it was created for the occasion of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953. You live and learn.

Pre-Fashion Week Retreat

February 18, 2015

Last week I had an invite to an amazing event, the Pre-Fashion Week Retreat organised by Scout Cast Produce for a much needed beauty pampering session. I was joined by my good friend Lilli and we had such a great time!

I headed down to Red Bull Studios and was happy to see that the event was very well organised and I even managed to get more treatments that I was originally able to book. Everyone was super nice and after a Red Bull smoothie I was ready to indulge.
