Care Bears

Care Bears

And I am back! After being extremely poorly for a couple of weeks (trust me you’ll want to be spared the details) which culminated in a blogging absence, I am now back. I have a lot of new things to show you and I may even have a couple of extra posts this week, as I missed out on some work I should have done last week. Thank you so much to all of you who messaged me and were concerned – it means a lot! You know who you are, special props to all of you from the bottom of my heart. You are real life Care Bears.

Care Bears

To prove that I am feeling much better, I am posting the photos Filipa took this last Saturday, when we went out for a spot of shopping in town. I had a Matalan gift voucher to use and some extra discounts to use, so I went along. And I failed on my objective to not buy stuff. But… I did use the voucher and the discount and as soon as I got home, I filled another big bag with clothes to donate. Trust me, I’m getting rid of a lot more than I brought in. So yeah, I failed but I’ll get back on track, I’ve been behaving a lot better as a whole. I don’t know why I failed but it must have had something to do with being ill and all that… makes you feel like pampering yourself a little. Or so I tell myself. Regardless, I’ve been doing pretty well until now and getting a lot more conscious about what I want to wear and look like than before.

Care Bears

Without further ado, here’s what I wore: Bears Cardigan – C/o Just For 5 Pounds, Skirt – Ebay, Shirt – Made by my great Aunt, Tights – Oxfam (I think), Ring – Gifted by Oh La Lali, Shoes – Office, via their outlet on Ebay, Bag – Paul Frank (I’ve had it for years and got it from Ebay at the time), Hair BowAlternate Normality (from the Blogcademy goodie bag).

Right now I’m sooo excited for the arrival of Spring, I have so many plans! How about you?

Visit to ASOS HQ

November 27, 2013

If you didn’t miss Monday’s post, you will know I went to the ASOS HQ last Saturday to an event that was part of the Access All ASOS program. As promised, I am sharing the photos I took of the quick visit we did around their offices, located at the Greater London House. I didn’t take any photos of the building myself but do have a look, it’s a feast for any Art Deco fans and cat crazy people such as myself.

ASOS is a company that has been established not too long ago, in 2001. It is now one of the main online fashion retailers in the UK and ships worldwide, bringing fashion for all tastes and wallets to women and men worldwide. I really liked visiting their offices, I wouldn’t mind working in a place like this, surrounded by beautiful clothes and shoes all day round!

I’m a sucker for colour and embroidery so this really caught my eye.

Mood boards everywhere!

I shook my little tush on the ASOS catwalk.

ASOS Wall of Models.

My favourite section – The shoes!

Apologies for the crap photos… I only had my phone on me when I was whisked away to do the guided tour. Hopefully there will be more opportunities in the future to take better photos *hint hint*. I am very happy to be part of the ASOS Insiders group, it’s a fantastic opportunity for anyone taking fashion and blogging seriously and all I can say is a big THANK YOU to ASOS!

Witching around

November 18, 2013

One of my current TV loves is undoubtedly American Horror Story Coven. I would venture to say that in my opinion, this has been the best season of the series so far. Too bad that it’ll be the last…

As I love the styling in the series, I thought I’d bring out the items in my closet that resemble the outfits on TV and had me some fun in the dark!

“What was that sound?”

What I wore: Floppy hat : H&M (also seen here), Dress – Vintage Jaeger, from a charity shop (also seen here), Boots – Office (via Ebay).

I’m adding the outfit to Patti’s Visible Monday!

Disposable Style

November 4, 2013

I was just looking at my files and I still have a gazillion outfits to share and found these photos taken with a disposable camera. I like the way they look, I should do this more often.

This outfit was baptized ‘The Metallina’, as it is a mix of heavy metal with ballerina. I love that skirt, I wish the button hadn’t popped that day. I have to wear it with a safety pin as it’s too tight now LOL. Leather panel skirt, Office ballerinas, Judas Priest t-shirt, Denim Jacket (customized by me) and Claw Ring all from Ebay.

On this day I was wearing : Cosmic Cat tee – from the men’s section at Target (from one of my trips to Florida), Leopard Print Skirt -Ebay, Shoes – Dune (TK Maxx), Headscarf – Zara, Sunnies – Moschino, Pleather Jacket – H&M

Here I am, drinking a can of liquid cellulitis (aka a can of full fat cola) and trying to do a jumping photo but failing miserably. Headscarf  and jacket are the same as before, Dress – I forget the brand but I got it from someone’s blog sale, Tights -Ebay, Shoes – Vans Hello Kitty, Bag – from a swap with my friend Lili.

And as always, it begs the question: which one is your favourite?

Adding this to Visible Monday over at Patti’s!

Edit: Added to Jane’s Shiny T Tuesday!

Office Looks – Totally Inappropriate Looks for the Office

August 26, 2013

How are you guys? Nothing better than doing an Office Looks post while I’m on holiday. That’s right, by the time you read this, I’ll be sat on the beach 😀

The theme this time is pattern mixing and on two very different looks. Which one is your favourite?

All of the items in this ensemble have been around for a few years. The top and skirt are from H&M, the sandals from Swedish Hasbeens, for H&M and the red bow on my stripy top is from Springfield.

This was one of those ideas that looked better in my head than the actual outfit but I still went with it anyway. I’m all about experimenting! Both the shirt and the trousers are stripy, although it’s not that apparent due to the glare. The shirt is Diane Von Furstenberg and I picked it up for something like 2 dollars ina charity shop in Florida. The trousers are Ralph Lauren and I got it from TJ Maxx, also in Florida. The bag in turn I got it from TK Maxx, here in the UK. The scarf is vintage and was a present from the lovely Andrea from Teetoo. The accessories are a mix of Matalan (that I got for the makeover photos) and gifted by another lovely Canadian, Ariane from Style Sud Est. The shoes are Modekungen and were one of those purchases that although it wasn’t on sale, I had to have them…

I did a matching manicure!

I swear it doesn’t get any better than these perspex heel shoes! They are quite surreal. I am joining the party over at Patti’s Visible Monday, as it has become a habit I don’t want to quit!
