One of the much-awaited collections (at least for me) was the product of a collaboration between H! by Henry Holland and the illustrator Will Broome. It was launched a few weeks back by Debenhams at an event that featured not only the cute wares that you can buy from the collection but also the opportunity to meet Will himself (and taste some delicious hors d’oeuvres).
Wore this recently on a day that wasn’t all that warm bt not all that cold yet either. Met up with friends, saw a film at the theatre and had an all around great day! I wanted to wear leopard print and do some pattern mixing but found a way of toning it down and still keep it somewhat tasteful. Emphasis on somewhat, as I am sure a lot of people will think the tights are super naff, but then what do they know? Ha!
Uniqlo sent me to the London Craft Beer Festival and this is what happened
August 24, 2015Summer is the time for festivals, but sometimes it can be hard to leave the city to attend – they can get really expensive or if you’re like me, I can’t really be arsed with them. For that reason, I’d much rather go to festivals and gigs in the city, that way I can always go home and sleep in my bed and not drown in mud! I’d never been to the London Craft Beer Festival before and as I have over the years I’ve been living in England developed a taste for it. Saying no wasn’t an option. I enlisted my friend Jackie to come along and we had a great time, taking photos, tasting beer and checking out the boys.
For a variety of reasons, I’ve been ditching a lot of the cutesy dresses and accessories that I own. The reality is, I’m getting closer to 40 and sometimes dressing like a 5-year-old feels a little bit silly and it’s getting a little bit old for me. I’d like to think that I still have my own style, but it’s been evolving and less infantilised. However, sometimes there are dresses that come along that you can’t just say no to.
Mod Dolly’s Margot dress was one such garment, as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it, although it’s short and has the obviously cute heart pockets. I’d like to think that I can still carry it well, despite being designed for much younger ladies than myself.
Sometimes you know you are just going to like and get along with someone, even before you actually meet them.
This is what happened with Shu-Shi, who also blogs at Shu Likes Clothes. When we decided to go on a pizza date along with our mutual friend Umit, it was part of the plan all along to do a few outfit photos. It would be rude not to, especially with Umit’s talents as a professional photographer.
