These photos are more than a week late, however I had my weekend out in London and have been sickly and not very energetic the last few days. I’m on the mend though, and normal blogging (and all other activities) will now resume. Thanks to everyone who left nice comments on my most recent entries, they did not go unnoticed.
Anyways, we had a ‘mid-lent fair’ in town for a few days with rides and all the tackiness these things usually involve. I didn’t go on the rides but I did walk through it one afternoon, to snap a few fun photos.
Can’t you just hear the initial chords to ‘the Eye of the Tiger’ when you look at this photo? Now you do, haha!
Semi nekkid ladies. Funny fact- there was a ride for kids right next to this one that was full, at that time of the day. As I was walking past, the music was blaring and Ian Dury and the Blockheads’ Sex and Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll started playing, only to fade away a few moments later, I guess someone realized what song it was and how inappropriate it was. That made me giggle to myself.

Your photos are beautiful. What I really love is how your black and white photos especially catch the timelessness of a carnival. If I didn't know these were taken in 2012, I could have been off by decades. Even in the colour ones, the graphics are wonderfully timeless as well.
Thank you 🙂
Seems like Carnivals are not very different from place to place! 🙂

Obrigada! Se bem que acho que quando nos focamos assim nos pormenores, parece melhor do que é na realidade, mas é sempre divertido.

love how you've captured the fair spirit, with all its decadence, sparkling and dance-floor kitsch!
So creative pics!
