? ? Peter Paul and Bjorn – Baby went to Amsterdam ? ?
Last weekend I went to Amsterdam, to visit my friend Sofia, who has been living there for the past 8 years. When I got that email from Easy Jet offering cheap flights I knew I couldn’t miss the oportunity to finally see the city and see my friends. As soon as I hopped off the train at Amsterdam Station Centraal I was whisked away to go to this alternative bar called Soundgarden and also a dingy goth club called Korsakoff which I had been told it was similar to our usual haunts back in Lisbon. Indeed it was and I had a lot of fun catching up, meeting my friend’s friends and ended up at Nicole’s for an afterparty.
After a few hours of sleep we went out to go around town and see the sights. As it happens it was also the Gay Pride weekend and that gave an extra colour to the city as we went straight to where the Pride boat parade was going to happen. It was such a good environment and such a happy vibe in the air, I had a blast. It was full and crowded and everyone wanted to see it. I managed to find a spot where I could peek between the people and see what was going on on the water as well and managed to snap a few photos.

After the parade we went around the town, looking for vintage shops and just absorbing the city. There are plenty of beautiful and charming details to look at.
“Four, five days by the big canal”
Sunnies – Phard
Parka – from an outlet shop in Manchester
Dress – AX Paris, via ASOS
The Smiths tote bag – some vintage/ hipster market on Brick Lane, London
Shoes – Bershka (RIP after this weekend)
Heart Ring – Topshop
?

There is a lot of street art around the city, grafitti and stickers but not too much that one could say it is dirty.

As you have probably noticed, there are bikes all over the place.

Drinking is forbidden at this bench!

At the Red Light District

Elvis the cat at the Getto Bar.

Next day we went to the Sunday Market, will be posting photos about it soon, along with a highlight of a very special artist I met there. Stay tuned!

Awesome, and just as I pictured it. I was so close to going one year we even had a house sitter lined up but then the couple we were suppose to go with bailed and we ended up staying home. Now it's much more expensive to go so I wonder if I'll ever see it in person. The Queen's birthday is a wonderful time to go!
