One of the best shows I’ve seen since I moved to England has been the Smyths, a cover band that play songs by… the Smiths. They played live at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham a few months ago and I couldn’t miss it! There are a few reasons for this: the Smiths are one of my favourite bands since forever (I used to listen to them back in middle school on my walkman and discovered what teen angst was all about through the poetry of Morrissey) and it was great fun, as everyone as in good spirits and singing along to all the songs. The singer did sound quite similar to Morrissey himself and completed the look quite similarly as well with the flowery shirts and flowers in the back pocket. I took some photos and here they are.
