Layering up for the cold weather

It’s that time of the year again, when the days get shorter and outfit photos become a nightmare to do. The weather goes cold and suddenly blankets become one of the most appealing items in the household. Days get dark and all I want to do is snuggle up under a nice warm fleecy blanket, with some Netflix and chill. Not what you are thinking, I really mean watching films and not doing anything useful.

As that isn’t possible (one needs to get out of the house and go to work, at some point), the best alternative is to layer up your clothes, which sometimes can make one feel like a stuffed turkey. The analogy is most adequate at the moment, as family and friends on the other side of the pond will be celebrating their turkey holiday soon, AKA Thanksgiving. We don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving here in Europe (and it wouldn’t make much sense for us to) but certain aspects of the American festivity are crossing the ocean, namely Black Friday.

Opinions on this are divided – while I wouldn’t spend hours queueing to buy anything, the opportunity to do some online shopping and get some items for a reduced price is always welcome. Just make sure you are getting something you really need and everything will be fine. Debenhams are joining in the Black Friday deals – I had the opportunity to get the Henry Holland/ Will Broome backpack I had been eyeing for months, which is now reduced. Check out what else is on sale, as you might find something you want and make sure you add the date to the calendar and check back- you will find some really good deals!

Anyway, I wore this little ensemble recently and what I have to say that it’s a bit of a new thing for me. I never ever do chunky knits as I always feel they make me look bigger and frumpy. Recently I kind of stopped caring, as I crave comfort above all. Some recent health complications and getting older are to blame for this shift, I suppose. Give me elasticated waistbands, please! One day you might see me walking around in moomoo, I swear. Probably will never be that bad but seriously, I just want to be coooomfy!

oh yes, layers can make me feel like a stuffed turkey, and I’m a huge fan of comfort!, so I pick viscose turtlenecks and light layers (say no to cotton!). I like your pullover, it looks cool and comfy too!, and love your golden leggings, they give a twist to the ensemble!
Wish you a comfy winter, dear lady!

I’m also realising that I’ve been putting on weight – and so many things don’t fit me the same way anymore – adding to the stuffed effect!

      Besitos!
