A couple of weeks ago I made my way after work to Roka on Charlotte Street for a very special event – the launch of a new range of products by one of my favourite beauty brands, DHC.

I arrived as the event was already in full swing. I met up with my friend Lili from Beauty and the Snob and had the opportunity to catch up with Abigail and Julia from Freedom PR, as I hadn’t seen them in ages! (Hi ladies! *waves virtually*)

I went straight to the crafts table, of course, where I made a little kansashi brooch. Hooray for my first kansashi!

The lovely Katie, who taught us a very easy way of making kansashi. We were very lucky as she came down from North Yorkshire on purpose for this event. Check out her website Japan Crafts for more details on all the amazing things she does.

Some properly done kansashi haha.

The evening progressed very well, with some delicious cocktails and nibbles. That was until I was munching on some juicy chicken skewers and managed to drip the sauce all over my cravate, turning it from boring light grey into an interesting piece with a Jackson Pollock style drip in brown. I can’t be taken anywhere, I always manage to embarrass myself. #slob

Beauty Lift, the new DHC product range, the stars that we were there to see. I had a very interesting conversation with one of the DHC ladies and we discussed the difference between Asian and Western style toners – in most Azian brands the toner is a moisturising step rather than cleansing and astringent. You learn something new every day!

I can’t wait to start using these new goodies, as DHC never seems to disappoint me.

Have you tried them yet?
