Witching around

November 18, 2013

One of my current TV loves is undoubtedly American Horror Story Coven. I would venture to say that in my opinion, this has been the best season of the series so far. Too bad that it’ll be the last…

As I love the styling in the series, I thought I’d bring out the items in my closet that resemble the outfits on TV and had me some fun in the dark!

“What was that sound?”

What I wore: Floppy hat : H&M (also seen here), Dress – Vintage Jaeger, from a charity shop (also seen here), Boots – Office (via Ebay).

I’m adding the outfit to Patti’s Visible Monday!

Weekend in Brighton – the outfits

October 7, 2013

As I mentioned and posted about last week, I spent a weekend in Brighton with the hubby. As we don’t live in the same country, our honeymoon continues! Brighton was the perfect place to spend a nice and full weekend, doing what we enjoy the most – sharing travelling experiences together. This is what I wore, on the 2 days we spent together.

Pleather Jacket – H&M, Sequin Dress – Topshop, via Ebay, Long Sleeve tee and Tights – Primark, Glittery TrainersSpringfield, Cat Bag – Ahcahcum Muchacha

As you can see it was very windy and my hair was made into a mess. That didn’t stop me from having my photo taken in front of this beautiful gypsy wagon.

On Sunday the sun smiled at us and we could enjoy a little snooze on the beach. Headscarf – Zara, Pleather Jacket and Bruce Springsteen tee– H&M, Necklace – Tatty Devine (on sale), Skater Skirt – Ebay, Red Boots – Dr Scholl (via Tk Maxx).

I’m joining the party over at Patti’s Visible Monday, and Judith’s Hat Attack won’t you join us too?

A fabulous weekend in London

September 15, 2013

I have to say that I’m still feeling the effects of attending the Blogcademy event in London last weekend. I have TONS of new ideas and I think I would need 3 more blogs (a a lot more free time too) to be able to put them all online! Hmmmm…..

Anyway, I haven’t shown the photos I took that weekend of London and of what I wore, as I know most of my readers like to see them outfits! So here are the sights and some of my clobber.

I arrived in London on Friday night and stayed at the Umi hotel in Bayswater. I had booked a single room for the night as I figured that would suffice to rest my bones after the trip down and after the blogging sessions. The hotel wasn’t fancy but it had all the basics I needed and was comfortable enough. I even got to watch a bit of telly before falling asleep!

I didn’t take a lot of photos in town that day as I managed to arrive late and was in a rush to get to the venue.

I nicked this photo from Nicole from A Life Less Beige, as I don’t have any of me on that day! With me on the photo are Tina of I Love Lotta and Sara from Under the Vintage Veil. I was wearing a Primark cardigan, Topshop wire and rhinestones cat ears, the skirt I bought from TK Maxx, for a song. I love it because it has a somewhat vintage feel to it, although it isn’t – the pattern has some sort of tropical landscape. The t-shirt I was wearing is from Pull and Bear and it’s got a maneki neko on it.

The next day I left the hotel and dragged my suitcase through the Underground system. I had by then learned a better way to get to the studio where we had the class. That taught me that you can’t always trust Google Maps directions!!!

As always, you can find some cool street art, particularly in Shoreditch where I spent the last weekend!

Of course, I had to use these as a backdrop for an outfit photo! The building looked super cool and I wish I had more places like this around where I live.

What I wore on Sunday: Ears – Crown and Glory, Necklace – Head Full of Feathers (both from the Blogcademy goody bag), Jacket – H&M, Dress – Monki, Bag – Ahacahcum Muchacha, Glitter trainers – Springfield.

The Gerkin, in the magical hour. The photo can’t convey the beauty of the colours of that moment.

I also thought I’d share some Robert Indiana love with you.Hope you enjoyed it! I’m sharing this post with the ladies at Ariane’s Blog Hop.

Who took the bomp from the bompalompalomp?

August 18, 2013

Who took the ram from the ramalamadingdong? Who knows? This is probably one of the most ‘adventurous’ outfits I’ve worn to work in the past few months.  Somehow I’m not too happy with the proportions, for some reason it seems like it looked better when I saw it in the mirror. I think I need to play around with these mid length skirts and find what really works. I suppose I would substitute the flatforms for a pair of platform heels. What do you think?

Details: Headscarf – Vintage souvenir from Rome found in the US, Cardigan – Wet Seal (on sale, cost 2 cents of a dollar), Bag – Swap with my friend Lili, Stripy Beetlejuice Skirt – Internacionale (on sale), Tshirt – Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop, Flatforms – Kurt Geiger (via TK Maxx), Ring – Present from the lovely Ariane at Style Sud-Est

As always, I’m joining Patty and all the other lovely ladies at Visible Monday. Have a lovely and fruitful week!

Myakka River State Park

July 15, 2013

One of the best things about Florida is the amount and variety of parks you can visit and explore. This time we went to Myakka River State Park, on our way back from Arcadia . We had a nice and relaxing walk around and although we didn’t get to see some of the biggest animals that live around there, we did have some nice surprises.

Watch the birdie! We had a bit of a laugh with this little one – as we approached he flew away complaining… that’s it COMPLAINING! and if he wasn’t it sure sounded like it. He didn’t seem to like the fact that we were disturbing him by walking along the river.

Pretty flowers.

A small alligator. He didn’t get too close and we didn’t really want it to.

Did I say it was relaxing? It was really pleasant and we shared some good moments taking pictures around here.

A monkey climbing the palmtree… oh wait. It’s my husband.

The dress was good camouflage.

Mr D spotted this very little one, It was a miracle he didn’t get squished. I hope he grows up to be a big frog and dies of old frog age.

What I wore: Dress – H&M for Water collection, via Ebay (how perfect was that for this holiday?) Sunnies – Moschino, Hair flower – H&M (on sale), Sandals– Topshop, thrifted on my day out with Curtise, Bracelets – present from Mr D’s Grandma.

Has anyone been to the parks in Florida? If so, which one is your favourite?

Don’t forget to sign up for the eyewear  giveaway, it would be great to get 50 participants so they can give one lucky reder a pair of glasses totally free! Otherwise it will just be the six $20 discount vouchers.

I am adding this post to Patti’s Visible Monday over at Not Dead Yet Style. Have a lovely week everyone!
