Who took the bomp from the bompalompalomp?

August 18, 2013

Who took the ram from the ramalamadingdong? Who knows? This is probably one of the most ‘adventurous’ outfits I’ve worn to work in the past few months.  Somehow I’m not too happy with the proportions, for some reason it seems like it looked better when I saw it in the mirror. I think I need to play around with these mid length skirts and find what really works. I suppose I would substitute the flatforms for a pair of platform heels. What do you think?

Details: Headscarf – Vintage souvenir from Rome found in the US, Cardigan – Wet Seal (on sale, cost 2 cents of a dollar), Bag – Swap with my friend Lili, Stripy Beetlejuice Skirt – Internacionale (on sale), Tshirt – Meadham Kirchhoff for Topshop, Flatforms – Kurt Geiger (via TK Maxx), Ring – Present from the lovely Ariane at Style Sud-Est

As always, I’m joining Patty and all the other lovely ladies at Visible Monday. Have a lovely and fruitful week!

I think you just put the hip in the hipshedipshedip. Adorable! Love it all!

I see what you mean with proportions, hard sometimes to figure it out, i think you can wear mid lenght but with the shirt or blouse inside the skirt with a belt or wear a crop top
I would wear socks with the platform sandals
Cute top and gorgeous skirt !

I think Ariane is right, the length of the skirt is fine on you, but because the top is long, it shortens your bottom half. If you wore something tucked in, it would show off your waist and elongate your bottom half. Ha, get me coming over all Gok Wan, like I have a clue!
Anyway, whatever the proportions, you always look stylish and gorgeous, love those shoes and the cute headscarf! xxx

Btw, I frequently wear outfits that look great in my head, and fine in the mirror, but on photos… Nah, not feeling it. Funny business, isn’t it? xxxx

Looks sporty and charmingly (but just a touch) idiosyncratic! Darling, in fact.
All of my outfits look better in my mirror. Cameras can lie like dogs. It would be fun to see
this same outfit come fall with outerwear and booties, maybe.
Completely cute as is, and I don’t get a proportion problem.

I know the feeling, that’s why I hate packing for a trip so much – great when it’s laid out on the bed and not so when it’s on.
I agree with Ariane and Curtise, a shorter top would sass it up and show off your fab bod. Love the shoes! x
