To finish my Week of Beauty, I have another beauty product that was sent to me by occasion of the Bloggers Love Twitter party just a couple of weeks ago. The Zuzka Rose Petal Cleansing Milk was advertised as something indicated for mature skin. As yours truly isn’t getting any younger and is getting closer and closer to the big 4-0, I thought this would be an adequate product to try.
With My Week of Beauty under way, today it is time to talk about the new salon and treatments I’ve tried last Saturday.
I headed down to Marble Arch in Central London for a great treat – a morning of pampering and beautification at the Beauty & Melody salon. I was super excited about the good things that I knew was in for at the day and for good reason! Nothing beats spending a good few hours at the salon, being looked after and going out feeling re-energized by having your hair done and your skin cleared and looking glowing! (plus the feeling of freshly cut dyed and cut hair is amazing).
Last week I participated in my first ever Twitter chat, organised by Bloggers Hub. The idea is to bring brands and bloggers together, from the comfort of one’s home or office. One of the brands I got acquainted with was Nanshy, who were kind enough to send me one of their makeup sponges to try. I thought it was a good idea as I’m trying to take my makeup a bit more seriously, to make it look right. The reason being, as my skin is maturing and my pores widening like craters, not all products will look good and the results may be improved by applying them differently. For this reason I’ve been investing and trying out different tools, as for example, smearing corrector with just my fingers no longer looks acceptable on my crow’s feet.
Before Christmas I attended one of the most interesting events I’ve been to so far, to launch a few new products by Paul & Joe Beauté.
Who hasn’t at least heard of this brand? Between the amazing packaging design they’ve been consistently putting out (remember the cat shaped lipsticks?) and the good quality of their products, it’s no wonder that it’s so popular. This was an unusual event because we had not only the chance to see the new SS15 collection first hand but also saw Paul & Joe‘s Artistic Beauty Director & Global Make-up Artist Craig-Ryan French perform his art and teach us about eyebrow styling.
As part of my decluttering efforts, I have decided to start doing an “Empties” post every month. It’s a good incentive to make the effort of using up all the stuff that ends up accumulating in my bathroom cabinet, plus having a pretty good idea of what the products are like. I frequently buy new things to try out and get samples all the time, so I thought I should write something about them.
This month I don’t have anything too fancy to be honest, but these are the products I finished off this time around:
