Liffestyle – Christmas shopping: sorted *

November 22, 2016

With December approaching, whether you like it or not, Christmas starts appearing everywhere, mostly in the shape of decorations and occasionally, songs playing in shops. It’s about this time that we all start worrying about doing the Christmas shopping. We’re all very busy and the las thing we want to do is to spend our precious free time in queues and that is why there has been an increase in online spending every year for UK families.

However, there have been concerns over the ethics of some of the big online retailers and their practices. Fortunately, there are online retailers whose main concern is to be environmentally friendly, socially responsible and a rewarding place to work. Such is the case of Uncommon Goods, a place where you can shop knowing that you’re in good hands.

The website has a great variety of Christmas gifts for all pocket books (find them here) and I picked my favourite pieces. I really liked that you can read about the designer of each piece, so you know exactly you made it for you.

If you’re looking for something for the gentlemen in your life there are plenty of gifts here. I picked these because gin, the old style illustrations on the bags are super cute (and it’s useful) and it’s always good to appear educated, even when insulting someone.

There’s also a great selection of gifts for ladies here. I picked the heart umbrella because I also have one and they’re super cute, the planetary necklace because it’s a good reminder of how big we are and how the size of our problems don’t really matter in the universe and the cute embroidered cushion because I loved how lively the design is.

Apart from all the bits I’ve mentioned above, there’s also a section of gifts especially picked for Moms here. I picked a few fun bits such as the ice cream socks, the very kitsch gnome terrarium (for those who can’t have a garden) and of course, a cat candle for the crazy cat ladies such as myself.

Dads, worry not as there’s also a section dedicated to you and the gifts you need this Christmas! A map for those who have been everywhere (or almost), shark socks because why not and the perfect gift for anyone who loves infography and beer.
